A warm welcome to the University of Edinburgh from the uCreate Studio team!
The headset in your hands is a gift from the uCreate studio, it’s yours to keep and use for any VR content that takes your interest.
To get started, simply follow the steps below:
1 – Register your headset
Before getting started, we’d love it if you could register your headset by putting your UUN in the box below and hitting submit. We’ll use this data to let teaching staff know when their classes are set for using VR in lessons.
2 – Calibrate your smartphone
Before jumping in we’d recommend downloading and opening the Google Cardboard app on your smartphone (android or IOS). This will calibrate your phone to your headset and provide you with some introductory experiences for VR.
When prompted to scan the viewer profile code in the cardboard app, you’ll find it on the bottom of your cardboard headset.
3 – Take a look around!
You’re all set. We’ve assembled a range of activities for you to try below. Take a tour of some of our favourite university sites, jump into a chat room to speak to other freshers, or explore examples of VR in music, theatre, travel and much more. Find something of interest, pop your phone in the headset and enjoy!
